At Vision Support Barrow & District, we believe that a supportive, inclusive community can make a powerful difference to the lives of people living with sight loss.

There are many ways you can get involved, have fun, and help us raise awareness and vital funds — all while showing support for individuals with vision impairments in our local area.

Join or Host A Fundraising Event

From friendly coffee mornings to lively raffles and bingo nights, our community events are a brilliant way to bring people together, spark conversations, and support a good cause.

You can support us by:

• Attending one of our regular events.
• Volunteering to help on the day.
• Donating prizes for raffles or tombolas.
• Hosting your own event at home, work, or school.
• Every slice of cake sold or bingo card called helps us fund vital services for local people with sight loss.

Wear Yellow Day

Our annual Wear Yellow Day is a fun, visual way to show solidarity with people who are blind or partially sighted. Whether you wear a bright yellow shirt, scarf, or even socks, you’re helping shine a light on the challenges of sight loss — and raising awareness in your community.

How to get involved:

• Dress in yellow at work, school or in your social group.
• Organise a yellow-themed fundraiser.
• Share your photos on social media using our hashtag. #VSBDWearYellowDay
• Donate or encourage others to support.

Small gestures make a big impact — and help us continue offering support where it’s needed most.
