Vision Support Barrow’s Successful First Visually Impaired Tennis Session

The first visually impaired tennis session for employees and clients of Vision Support Barrow was a fantastic success. Led by Janiece Wallace from the South Yorkshire Visually Impaired Tennis Club (advisor to the Lawn Tennis Association), alongside coaching support from Joseph and Gary Paton, Development Officer for Cumbrian Tennis, the session was filled with energy, enthusiasm, and inspiration. It was an incredible first step toward forming a dedicated Vision Support Barrow tennis team, creating an opportunity for growth, inclusion, and community through sport.

To help support this exciting new initiative, Mark Bullock, representing Bright Ideas for Tennis, has kindly provided a £600 grant. This generous contribution will fund future tennis lessons and provide essential tennis equipment, enabling Vision Support Barrow to continue their journey into visually impaired tennis.

With over 30 years of experience in disability tennis, Mark has a wealth of knowledge and dedication. He was awarded LTA Coach of the Year in 2021 and recently received the prestigious International Tennis Federation’s UNIQLO Spirit of Sport Award.

Through Bright Ideas for Tennis, Mark’s ongoing support is helping make tennis more accessible to everyone. This contribution is a crucial step forward for visually impaired tennis in the region, and we are grateful for the continued commitment to the cause.

If you would like to get involved, please get in touch by phone or email.

Exciting times ahead!
