Join us and Healthwatch Westmorland and Furness for an informal workshop all about Access To Work. Come along and learn how the scheme can help you and your team.

Access To Work is an employment support programme that aims to help more disabled people start or stay in work. Access To Work grant can pay for practical support to help disabled people start working, stay in work, move into self-employment or start a business (not including start-up costs).

As an employer, it’s important to know about Access To Work to help better support your disabled colleagues, signpost other businesses, and create a more diverse and equitable workplace.

The talk will be led by Vision Support Barrow & District’s Chief Executive, Amanda Bennett (she/her). Amanda brings a wealth of knowledge having worked in the charity sector for a number of years previously working for Guide Dogs UK, The Children’s Society, and RNID (Royal National Institute for Deaf People).

She also brings lived experience of life with a vision impairment and knows first-hand how Access To Work can benefit employees and employers.

Amanda has chaired the Access to Work forum on behalf of the not for profit sector for the last three years.

Facilitating this workshop is our act of kindness in celebration of World Kindness Day, what you’re act of #FurnessKindness?
