What a Great Morning!
We had a very informative and moving presentation from Becky, who represents both the Cumbria Deaf Association (CDA) and Vision Support Barrow & District. On this occasion, Becky was representing CDA and shared some valuable insights into the experiences and challenges faced by deaf people. Her presentation was both thought-provoking and inspiring.
As part of the session, we had the opportunity to learn some basic sign language, which was both enjoyable and a great way to develop our understanding of communication within the deaf community. We also watched The Silent Child, a powerful and moving film that gave us a deeper insight into the experiences of deaf children and highlighted the importance of communication, understanding and inclusion.
It was a really engaging and meaningful session, and we are very grateful to Becky for taking the time to share her knowledge, experiences and expertise with us.
