Vision Support Barrow & District

Children and Young People’s Group

Yearly Recap

What an incredible year it has been for the Children and Young People’s Group at Vision Support Barrow and District! Our young people have taken part in a wide range of exciting activities, hands-on experiences, and creative workshops, helping them to build confidence, friendships, and unforgettable memories.

Some of this year’s highlights included:

  • A special visit from Barrow AFC footballers, giving the group the chance to chat with their sporting heroes and have photos taken.

  • A brilliant trip to Barrow Fire Station, where children explored the fire engines, had a go at spraying water from the hose, and learned important fire safety skills.

  • Creative workshops with Full of Noises and Philip Green, featuring sound experiments, loop creation, and photography sessions. These sessions culminated in a stunning photography and sound exhibition.

  • A fun-filled day out at Lakeland Maze and Farm Park, packed with animals, adventure, and outdoor exploration.

  • A spooky and spectacular Halloween visit to Muncaster Castle, including an exciting ride on the Ghost Train.

  • A educational planting of the Listening Garden at Full of Noises, encouraging calm, creativity, and sensory exploration.

  • A craft morning, where creativity and imagination were on full display.

  • A pizza party, giving everyone the chance to relax, socialise, and enjoy time together.

  • And finally, a magical Christmas trip to Sizergh Castle, providing the perfect way to round off a wonderful year.

We are incredibly grateful for the generosity and support that makes all of this possible.
